This summer, I participated in Fleet Moves—a collectively produced festival where 17 artists collaboratively live, create, teach, and perform throughout Wellfleet, MA for 2 weeks. This was my second year there, and the collective organizing body (The Movement Party) has grown and matured so that we were able to go further into our own work. I directed a site specific performance at the edge of a tidal river and salt marsh undergoing restoration. I worked with five dance artists: Ann Zeurner, Katie Shtetlick, Athena Kokoronis, Rishauna Zumberg, and Jessie Young; and we gathered resources from researchers and organizations involved in the restoration and town history archives. Many attended the event and stayed long afterwards to talk about the changes in their landscape. Check out all the projects and amazing photo documentation on the Fleet Moves Tumblr page.
